Acetic Acid

Occurs naturally in apples, cocoa, grapes, coffee, oranges, peaches, pineapples, strawberries, vinegar and a variety of other fruits and plants. Used as part of a natural preservative system. We do not use chemical preservatives incl. parabens, urea, etc.

Alginate Sea Minerals (Algin)

Obtained from seaweed and used as a natural emulsifier, thickener and stabilizer in shampoos and other hair care products. Also makes hair feel softer and shinier.

Aloe Vera (Aloe Barbadensis Extract)

Used medicinally for thousands of years for healing of burns and injuries. Wonderful in cosmetics for soothing, regenerating and moisturizing properties. We use organic aloe vera (fresh extract from inner-gel of aloe barbadensis) which is a succulent plant that holds water in its leaves that supports moisture balance of the skin.

AHA (Alfa Hydroxy acid)

Natural source of AHA (Alpha-Hydroxy-Acids) derived from rhubarb that aids skin in shedding dead skin cells thus exposing softer smoother skin beneath.

Alpinia (Alpinia Officinarum Root Extract)

A traditional Malaysian rainforest herb from the jungle with medicinal and cosmetic values used for thousands of years. Medicinally used to heal ailments from bronchitis to cholera, joint and ligament pains and skin diseases as well. An excellent and powerful astringent for cosmetics. We proudly use it in Alpinia & Tea Tree Facial Wash

Angelica (Angelica Archangelica)

Mild anti-microbial herb that soothes irritations. Part of Paul Penders LevensESSENTIE Gold™ 22 herbal extract.

Aqua

Purified and/or distilled well water is used in making LevensESSENTIE Gold™ herbal extract. Also employed in creams to achieve a good consistency, assists in hydration of skin and help ingredients better to penetrate skin.

Anti-Oxidants

Preservatives that prevent natural fats from spoiling. We use a natural anti-oxidant tocopherols (vitamin E) derived from palm fruit and/or wheat germ.

Arnica (Arnica Montana)

A herb that is part of LevensESSENTIE Gold™ 22 herbal extract that strongly promotes healing and stimulates circulation. Also used as a natural anti-irritant in Paul Penders scalp cleansing products.

Avocado Oil (Persea Gratissima Oil)

Oil from this green fruit is an excellent skin emollient with high levels of vitamins A and C.

Babassu Oil (Orbignya Oleifera Seed Oil)

Obtained from the kernels of the Babassu palm which is an excellent emollient and also provides a cooling effect on the skin.

Biomarine Algae (Algae Extract)

Extract of brown seaweed (macrocystis, laminaria, and ascophyllum by species) which contain several powerful minerals. Also serves as a thickener and stabilizer for several of our emulsions.
