Filming Mad Scientists, Gypsies & Card Players

It came in the form of an email to me about a few weeks back.
Could we help him out?
Of course!
This was a challenge too hard and too fun to pass up.
What’s more, it was a chance of a lifetime as one does not meet a CEO like Paul every day.
He was game for lots of zany ideas plus he didn’t mind starring in the videos.
That’s how we ended up going to the Paul Penders Company on Langkawi island last week to help him create and film the juicy ‘story’ he wanted to tell the world.
In fact, we ended up with 3 short videos (4 actually if you include the short ‘serious’ interview we did with Paul) - all shot on location at his new ocean front building.

Everyone helped – from Dr Gatot to Iriena (the Paul Penders’ R&D team) to Hans and Yvonne, good friends of Paul’s.
They were all incredibly supportive of the filming though some scenes were tough on them (no one was an actor yet everyone pulled off their parts well!).
I won’t be such a spoilsport to reveal the videos. You’ll just have to wait and see.
Right now, the raw footage are going through some editing to keep the scenes fresh and exciting. Look out for The Mad Scientist, The Gypsy and The Card Player videos on this blog as well as on Youtube soon.
Thanks again to Paul and his entire team at Langkawi (especially Ina) for hosting our stay at the 4th floor of the “Hotel Paul Penders” (which has a magnificent view of the sun rising and setting each day).

A big thank you to Yvonne and Hans for introducing us to authentic Dutch cuisine – bitterballen, meatloaf, kartofelsouffle, Dutch-style stew and red cabbage, complete with apple sauce and brussel sprouts accompanied by Jacobs’ Creek and Lindemans wines.
