Statement from Paul Penders on Ingredients in Cosmetics, July 2009

Posted on 01. Aug, 2009 by Steen in Natural Organic Products, News & Articles

Hereby, I, Paul Penders, President of Paul Penders Co., Inc., San Pablo, California in The United States of America, and of Paul Penders Co., Langkawi UNESCO Geopark, Malaysia make the following statement about Paul Penders natural organic herbal cosmetics:

PP products

We use certified organic ingredients. LevensESSENTIE Gold is a herbal extract made of 22 organic herbs. The certified ingredients are being used in different quantities depending on the specific product. Please review the explanation of ALL Paul Penders ingredients used in our products at: www.paulpenders.com.

Aloe & Lavender A.M. MoisturizerWe guarantee, based on tests by the University of Penang, that all our products (including baby products) do not contain 1.4 dioxane or formaldehyde.

Each and every product batch is, before being filled into containers, certified by an independent Australian ISO 9000 laboratory to state that the product is entirely fit and safe for filling. Only after this certificate is issued and received, we proceed with filling

Our preservatives are made from certified organic and natural ingredients which may vary, depending on which product it is applied to.

We use certified organic colors for our makeup products that may come from iron oxides or, for some of the lip colors, carmine. We proudly denounce – and never ever use – chemical FD&C colors or other petrochemical dyes.

Natural Cream LipstickWe use no chemical emulsifiers. No chemical fragrances (but blends of natural essential oils). No chemical foaming agents. No petroleum based ingredients. Our products are cold-mixed, a system developed by us that guarantees optimal potency and effectiveness of all ingredients used. This ensures the ingredients ability to work in the desired way, instead of their effect being sabotaged or killed due to heat processing.

We have never, ever tested on animals! The history of Paul Penders is a proud testimony to this fact: being THE pioneer in non-animal tested cosmetics for over 40 years!

Proudfully and Respectfully

I’m responding to the article you published about organic food not being any healthier than conventionally grown food. A friend had already sent me that story, so I replied to him and all the people he sent the article to as follows —- perhaps a little roughly – my patience is wearing thin — but you might get a kick out of it:

The real issue with organic versus non-organic is the CHEMICALS. Of course the food is nutritionally essentially the same —- a cucumber is a cucumber is a cucumber.

It’s what’s missing from organic food that counts —- THE CHEMICALS. And if you think that you’ll be just as healthy when you eat all those chemicals in the food, you should probably die before you reproduce so you don’t pass on your stupid genes. And that’s the truth today.

Best wishes to all the people who understand what I’m saying. The rest of you can get off my planet.

:-) hi and thank you M.. Ross Adams. We totally agree with you and…. there is nothing rough about what you said! The thing is, in order to change the world we need to be clear and with it cut the b… isn’t? How else are our voices going to be heard?

When I was at the barricades in The Netherlands as first one fighting for animal rights many years ago, I needed to exaggerate at times just in order to get the message across. What you said is true and truth. Thank you again.

One side note here is that all organic materials are not always natural as well. There is lots of confusion about the matter and many companies take advanteage of it.. Please read TOO where several “organic cosmetic” companies, including bodies that certify organic cosmetics are taken to court right now in San Francisco.

We believe that our governments should do a better job in checking labels, periodically take products from the shelves and test them…. thus the government enforcing the law and then go after the bad apples that lie to the consumer… the ones willing to pay more for a good product but then get the same chemicals in their products as the “mainstream” products.

    Keep fighting M. Ross Adams!
Thank you for your response! The world really needs you!!
