Up-close and Personal with Katja and the Nature

Last weekend, me, Nash and Katja went to Lebuk Sembilan, the waterfall beside Book Village, for the second photo shoot. We chose a good spot, put our things down and familiarized the environment. Although it was early afternoon, the tall trees that surrounded the area provided shades with sufficient sun rays filtered gently through the leaves.

Katja changed into a sarung and I put a hibiscus in her hair to give it a tropical feel. The reason we wanted her to wear the sarung was because we asked her to be in the water during the photo shoot. As soon as Katja stepped into the water, she shivered and said with a shaky voice: “The water is freezing!”, as she slowly made her way to the rock at the very end of the stream.

The rocks were slippery and anyone could end up in the water or get hurt if we were not cautious enough. Nash was in charged of taking photos while I assisted him and Katja so that the photo shoot went smoothly. During the photo session, we tried to guide Katja so as to make her feel comfortable, relaxed and be natural. Her bubbly personality and funny jokes really crack us up, which made the whole process more fun and enjoyable.

Prior to the photo shoot, me and Nash had come up with different ideas that we attempted during the shooting at the waterfall. Some didn’t work out, but most turned out to be successful. Katja had to be submerged in the water for quite some time before she could dry herself up and change into another dress. However, all of us had fun trying and the photo shoot went really well.

As the evening came to a close, we packed our things and went back home with a tired body and an empty stomach but with a smile on our face and satisfaction in our heart.
